History
Kountouriotis Physiotherapy center is the result of the progression of the Kountouriotis physiotherapy clinic. In 1998, the physiotherapist Demetris Kountouriotis established a physiotherapy clinic aiming to offer physiotherapy to those in need. The only employer of the clinic was Demetris Kountouriotis.
However, from the early days of the clinic the need to develop a more specialized center with qualified staff to deal with the full range of simple to complex orthopaedic problems became apparent. Soon, the staff of the clinic started to increase in number in order to meet the needs of the clients and the increasing number and health demands of clients. The philosophy of the clinic was high quality of services tailored to the individual needs of each client. A quality audit system was instigated from the early start of the clinic in order to ensure the provision of prominent quality services. The clinic started to offer physical rehabilitation to complex cases of hand reconstruction after trauma and hand microsurgery.
In the meantime, in 2001, Kountouriotis Medicare was established in order to support the clinic with the use of static and dynamic splints as well as other orthopaedic aids which were essential for the rehabilitation of the clients. However, the main activity and vision of Demetris Kountouriotis was and is the provision of high quality physiotherapy services according to the individual needs of each client.
As a result of all this, in the year 2005, the clinic advanced into Kountouriotis Physiotherapy Centre. Meanwhile, the construction of the Center according to the European standards started and was completed in March 2006. The New Kountouriotis Physiotherapy Center opened its doors to the public in April 2006.
Currently the center employs six qualified physiotherapist, one kinesiologist, and offers a variety of services raging from general orthopaedic problems to complex post traumatic rehabilitation of hand microsurgery cases.
Nevertheless, the vision and philosophy of the center remains the same: "the provision of prominent physiotherapy services in order to meet the individual needs of the clients and empower them to move from dependency to independency".
